TOUR ITINERARY
Wellcome Tanzania, please accept my greetings.
Whatever time you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your Safari Partner driver-guide will be there to greet you with a warm smile. Relax in your comfy vehicle as he drives you to your hotel in Arusha, Tanzania's self-proclaimed "safari capital." During your one-hour drive to the hotel, you will get a taste of this enormous, bustling economic city. Your pre-safari briefing may take place today, depending on your arrival time; if not, it will take place early tomorrow morning.

Plan your dinner at your hotel.
Tour Briefing
Unless your arrival time allowed for a safari briefing yesterday, this will be conducted after breakfast. We will supply you with the necessary information before departing for our first safari site, Lake Manyara National Park.
Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park (morning)
Our two-hour (130-kilometer) drive west from Arusha. Along the way, you'll see all the colors and character of Tanzania, including Maasai herders driving their flocks of goats to new pastures. You'll get to know your driver-guide and be astounded by his depth of expertise as he answers all of your inquiries with ease.
The Day's Highlights
Your game drive in beautiful Lake Manyara, with the Rift Valley escarpment and the lake as natural backdrops.
Lake Manyara National Park Safari (Game Drive)
We jump in our vehicle after lunch to see the wonders of this park. Set against the rocky Rift Valley escarpment and distinguished by its beautiful lake, Manyara is rich in plant and fauna. Enjoy the peacefulness as majestic pink flamingos wade elegantly across the shallow, alkaline waters, picking out a feed of algae.Manyara's geography is confined, but it contains a variety of ecosystems, such as varied woodlands supplied by rivers seeping from the surrounding escarpment. Monkeys abound, but keep an eye out for lions, giraffes, warthogs, and cranky Cape buffalo, who also call this park home. When we get to the hippo pool, hold your nose because these large lumps stink!

Accommodation
Glamping in Lake Manyara Tortilis Camp will provide you with a memorable night high above the lake and below the escarpment. Unlike many other lodgings in the area, this one is genuinely located within the National Park, and it's also well situated for stunning sunrises. Small and intimate, it is manned by a team of friendly and inviting staff who are keen to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Wildlife roams freely between the tents, there's an ambient 'fire pit' where you can relax, and the tents themselves will amaze you with their degrees of luxury.

Meal Plan

Breakfast is included at The African Tulip. Lunch will be a good and balanced meal that the camp will also supply for you to take on safari. Your dinner will be a complete, cooked meal prepared by the Lake Manyara Tortilis Camp team.
Tour Briefing
With Serengeti as our destination, and with your head full of magical memories of Manyara, we set off to the north and west, a 5-hour journey of around 222km, following the famous Rift Valley. On the journey, you will be enchanted by the colors of everyday Tanzanian life, the different faces of the tribesmen, their herds, the bustle of the transport, the vibrant roadside stalls and markets. Soon, however, the human habitation gives way to the Serengeti plains.
Day’s HighlightHere’s a National Park which will offer you a whole variety of wildlife surprises over the next few days, but perhaps today’s highlight – certainly for first-time visitors – will simply be the Serengeti terrain itself. The sheer vastness, as the plains roll away in front of you into eternity, will leave you with a sense of awe.
Safari in Serengeti National ParkAt last! Serengeti, the incomparable wonder of Tanzania, will be the stage for the natural animal theatrics which will be performed over the next few days. Your game drive here combines the known with the unknown, the certainty that you will be amazed with the uncertainty of exactly what you will see and when. Changing light, a changing cast of animal actors, ensuring that at every turn there is a new experience. Snap off some memorable photos, but don’t forget to simply take a deep breath and enjoy nature in its real-time, raw beauty.

The team here is totally dedicated to your enjoyment, providing the warmest of welcomes which might include a bit of singing and dancing: bring your sense of rhythm! Then, feast yourselves on a truly superb dinner and your driver-guide will discuss the plans for the next day’s itinerary in the Serengeti. Afterwards, review the photos that have captured the day’s highlights, before falling asleep to get ready for another day of adventure.
