Day 1: Arrive - Olpopongi Masai Village

  • Itinerary: Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, embark on a scenic drive to Olpopongi in West Kilimanjaro. Enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru as you approach the Maasai village, where the Village Chief warmly welcomes you with traditional refreshments.

  • Accommodation: Overnight at Olpopongi Maasai Village

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 2: Olpopongi Masai Village

  • Itinerary: Begin your day with a walking safari, guided by Maasai warriors who will share insights into their culture and traditions. Learn about medicinal plants, local wildlife, and Maasai survival skills. End your day with a traditional sing and dance performance around the campfire, followed by a delicious BBQ buffet under the stars.

  • Accommodation: Private Maasai house with traditional beds

Day 3: Olpopongi Masai Village - Tengeru Village

  • Itinerary: After breakfast, travel to Tengeru Village for a cultural tour. Visit local schools, interact with children, and explore historical sites like the old stone quarry from WWII. Spend the evening in Arusha, where you’ll enjoy modern comforts at Mount Meru Hotel.

  • Accommodation: Mount Meru Hotel

Day 4: Monduli Juu Cultural Tour

  • Itinerary: Depart for Monduli, where you’ll embark on a guided walk through the forest, potentially spotting wildlife such as buffalo and elephants. Hike to the summit of Monduli Mountain for panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Meru.

  • Accommodation: Enguik Village

Day 5: Lake Eyasi - Cultural Interaction

  • Itinerary: Journey to Lake Eyasi to engage with the Tatoga tribe and the Hadzabe bushmen. Experience their ancient way of life, including hunting with bows and arrows, gathering wild fruits, and understanding their deep connection with nature.

  • Accommodation: Kisimangeda Tented Lodge

Day 6: Lake Eyasi - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

  • Itinerary: Start your day with an early morning hunting tour with the Hadzabe bushmen before heading to the stunning Ngorongoro Crater. En route, enjoy wildlife sightings and breathtaking views from the crater rim.

  • Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge

Day 7: Masai Village Visit - Olduvai Gorge

  • Itinerary: Visit a traditional Masai village and, if desired, stop at Olduvai Gorge—a significant archaeological site. Gain insight into the history of human evolution with a lecture from a resident anthropologist.

  • Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge

Day 8: Mto wa Mbu - Arusha

  • Itinerary: Conclude your cultural adventure with a visit to Mto wa Mbu, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture. Explore the village, sample Tanzanian cuisine, and engage in various activities before returning to Arusha.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
